Oregon Ducks Take Down James Madison in First Ever Home Playoff Game

The Oregon Ducks hosted the James Madison Dukes in the first round of the College Football Playoff. Though ticket sales and weather were concerns prior to kickoff, the Ducks secured a rocky win in a full stadium with chilly, but clear, conditions. The No. 5 Oregon Ducks won their first ever home College Football Playoff game with a 51-34 win over James Madison. There were numerous winners from the outcome of this game, and one big loser.

The No. 5 Oregon Ducks defeated No. 12-ranked James Madison 51-34 in the first round of the College Football Playoff at Autzen Stadium. The Ducks took full advantage of everything the No. 5 seed offered, which included a tune-up game that saw the Ducks' offense rolling early. Oregon's special teams were excellent and played a huge role in the win as well. Below are the winners and losers of the 51-34 Oregon win over JMU in the CFP.

The Oregon Ducks have been without their two leading wide receivers for over a month now, dating back to the start of November, but as Dan Lanning and his team get set to take on the James Madison Dukes in the first round of the College Football Playoff, a return is happening.

According to the official availability report for the Ducks, both Dakorien Moore and Gary Bryant Jr. are listed as "available" for Oregon going into this game. Moore hasn't played since the last game in October, against the Wisconsin Badgers, while Bryant played early on against the Iowa Hawkeyes a week later, but suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter.

Before his injury, Moore led all receivers in Eugene with 28 catches for 443 yards and three touchdowns, while Bryant had 25 catches for 299 yards and four touchdowns. The Ducks now get them back and are able to bolster their WR unit after a month of relying on the likes of Malik Benson and Jeremiah McClellan, both of whom stepped up in major ways down the stretch.
